Our client is looking for a Financial Accountant to join the team on a permanent, full-time basis, reporting through to a Financial Controller. This position will take ownership of the accounting function for the New Zealand based operations. The role includes two days working from home per week. This organisation operates across Australasia and has long standing contracts ensuring they are stable in all economic climates.

Responsibilities will include:

• Producing monthly and annual financial statements
• Monthly financial reporting
• Compliance with statutory requirements (GST and FBT returns)
• Assisting with both internal and external audit processes
• Assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews
• Working collaboratively with AR and AP team
• Process improvement across accounting functions.

Does this sound like you?

Along with a minimum of 3 years accounting experience in the commercial space as well as a CA qualification:

• 3+ years’ experience with general ledger functions and month end/year end close process
• Strong exposure to NZ IFRS, tax, company compliance regulations and accounting controls
• Microsoft Excel proficient, ideally SAP experience
• Team player with excellent communications skills
• Logical and analytical approach
